Glassforever

On Tuesday 13 November 2007 we had an entertaining educational visit from the www.glassforever.co.uk roadshow.glassforever

The day began with a introductory talk to Primary 4, 5 and 6 about the longterm benefits of recycling glass. Gail, our presenter helped us understand the glass manufacturing process by showing us video clips and asking us to take part in an interactive quiz.

Each class was then given a chance to have a go on the recycling machine. This is a miniature version of an actual recycling conveyor belt. We had lots of fun trying to sort out the all the different bits and pieces that are thrown into bottle banks.

Each class was divided into two shifts. This is the day shift sifting through the bottle bank contents. It was hard work trying to beat the night shift.
