Respect me - Scotland's anti bullying service

Coming soon...Internet safety workshops

An introductory meeting was held with the Headteacher and the local community police officer, together with a representative from Respectme.org.uk and a selection of parents. The pilot meeting was very informative, so the PTA are keen that more parents at Milngavie Primary School should be aware of these resources and have decided to fund some workshops later in the year.

In the meantime, the following websites have been recommended and are worth a look.

Internetmatters.org has handy guides for parents struggling with tech issues and quick, easy ways knowing how to keep their children safe.

Also, CEOPs Thinkuknow education programme
have a short film which is suitable for pupils aged 8+ and helps children to understand what constitutes personal information. The film enables children to understand that they need to be just as protective of their personal information online, as they are in the real world. It also directs where to go and what to do if children are worried about any of the issues covered.
