St Paul's

As part of our preparations to open a branch of the Credit Union within Milngavie Primary some pupils from Primary 6 (2013-14) visited St Paul's RC Primary, Whiteinch. St Paul's Primary 6 pupils have been operating a branch of the Credit union for the past six years.

First of all we were welcomed to the school by Mr Hardie, the headmaster and Mrs Higgins, the Principal teacher. We met the team of Primary 6 pupils who are currently undergoing credit Union training. We asked questions and watched as they opened their branch for business.

We were shown round the school. St Paul's is an open-plan Primary which means there are no doors on the classrooms. It was very quiet and everyone worked really hard. We made detailed notes of everything we saw. The P6 team advised us that we need somewhere quiet to work. This is their conference room.

The older pupils help the younger pupils fill in their deposit forms. Mrs Higgins checks the accounts when the branch closes. The St Paul's team treated us to juice, crisps and chocolate.

St Paul's

We learned so much from the pupils of St Paul's that opened our own branch of the Credit Union on 23 October 2013.

Now we need to think about inviting the team from St Paul's  to visit us.
