Milngavie Primary School has been awarded the Equitable Creative Coding Award (ECCo). We are the first school in East Dunbartonshire to be validated with this award, showing how much we value computational thinking, problem solving and coding in Milngavie Primary School. You can see us in the November edition of the Community Magazine, page 14.
Computational thinking and coding are embedded throughout the school and ELC. Pupils start coding in the ELC, with our new Sphero Indis. The pupils continue to use Indis throughout the school and extend this learning through coding Bee-bots and Scratch Jr, moving through to Scratch, Marty the Robot and micro:bits. This year we are introducing games making through Arcade Makecode, with Primary 7 showcasing their learning by creating a game. Primary 7 also extend their learning through coding using Python and HTML.
Well done to everyone involved in achieving this award.
