The PTA is a group of parent volunteers who, with the help of teachers, organise a series of events to help raise money for the school and create a fun and memorable experiences for our pupils and parents to enjoy.

Events

We run four main events in the academic year:

  • Halloween Disco, October
  • Christmas Fayre, December
  • Spring Ceilidh, March
  • End of Term Disco, June

In addition, we have smaller, ad-hoc events that pop up throughout the year so keep an eye out for those too.

The school office will send out details of each event as it is launched. You can also follow us on Facebook for more information.

Funds Raised

We are always extremely grateful for the generous support we receive from parents and pupils. Thanks to your kindness, we are able to fulfil a number of important funding requests from both the school and nursery.

Recent examples include:

  • Playground equipment
  • Nursery treat fund
  • Scottish Opera trip
  • Panto visits to both infant & senior schools
  • Christmas presents from teachers to kids
  • Class Christmas parties
  • Ice cream van visit to playground in summer term
  • Contribution to P7 leavers party
  • Zoolab visit to school
  • School ties for the new P1s
  • Teddies for the new P1s
  • Thank you gifts for St Nicholas & Torrance for accommodating us in 2025/26
  • The Sunshine Fund

Each year, any remaining funds are carried over to the next year as we continue to liaise with the school on where funds can be put to best use.

Help us

If you are interested in being part of the PTA, or lending a hand, there are three ways you can get involved:

  • Join the PTA as a member and help with the planning, preparation and running of the events.
  • Add your name to the list of parent volunteers to help on the day at specific events.
  • Offer services / supplies / prizes / connections for events.
